Makeup Looks and Hairstyles Mistakes You Should Never Make!

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist01aaHave you ever received or commented on someone’s makeup or hairdo which did not fit well?

Today, we are sharing professional tips from our Korean and Korean-Certified make up artists! Being the professionals of studying Asian faces, they know just the right styles that suit and would never go wrong on your special day!

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist02For your pre-wedding photoshoot in Korea, there will definitely be a special team of Korean makeup artists over there helping you with your styling, making sure you look amazing for your once in a lifetime pre-wedding photoshoot!

For those who aren’t intending to go to Korea, did you know that we too have our very own professional Korean-Certified Makeup Artistes right here in our homeland?  Be it whether you have a round, square or heart-shaped face, there’s definitely a right style and look they can always propose!

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist03Introducing, our  professional Korean-Certified Makeup Artist, Elaine Soo, who will be giving you some tips on the no-no’s and what you can do to make it a yes to create your natural K-look!

Straight thick eyebrows are extremely trendy to complete the Korean look, but Elaine mentions that it is all dependent on the natural shape of your eyebrows and also your face! Emphasizing on the fact that Koreans go for a more natural look, if straight and thick brows do not suit your face shape, do not force the look on you.

Instead, she suggests that you should follow your brow-line but add a little more edge to it, so as to give you some of that straight brow look but yet looking natural and youthful.

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist07If you are not yet aware, the Korean makeup look always emphasizes on looking ‘naturally’ beautiful! Thus, Elaine suggests that it is not advisable to put too much bronzer and end up making it look more obvious that you have caked your face.

However, gently contour your face depending on your face shape and also remember to highlight important parts, like your forehead and chin. To successfully achieve the Korean look, highlighting is essential so that you will have radiant, shining and dewy skin to show off!

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist08Everyone loves how fake eyelashes can help define your eyes and make it look amazing in real life and in your photos! We’re sure you’ve thought that if the fake eyelash is more sparse, it’ll make it look natural on your eyelashes.

However, she has more tips to share with you on choosing the fake eyelash that suits you. Depending on how thick or thin your eyelashes are, it will definitely affect your choice.

What actually matters more is the variations of lengths in the fake eyelash that makes it look more natural. If every eyelash is of the same length, it may ruin your whole ‘natural’ look!

For brides who don’t have double eyelids, don’t give up hope on achieving your sweet Korean look! Depending on your preference, Elaine propose that you can choose to add the double eye-lid tape or go bare.

No matter which you would prefer, she mentions that makeup can be used to enhance your eyes and make it look big and radiant even without your double eyelids! Isn’t that a load off your back? 🙂

Last but least, we have the lips! Do not choose too bright, bold colours or matte textured lipstick, instead opt for lip gloss in peach or pinkish tones. Elaine says she will always analyze the skin tone of the bride before picking out the lip shades, to see what complements her the best 🙂

Also, her secret to making brides lips pop is to use a lip concealer first, to fully show off the lovely hues of the lip gloss!

Next up, we have the experienced Korean-Certified Makeup Artist and Hairstylist, Sally Tan, who also has some tricks up her sleeves for the right hairstyles to make you look even more gorgeous on your wedding day!

As Asian features are not as well defined, Sally believes that adapting various hairstyles for different face shapes to match up to the golden proportion is important! Here are some tips on how not to mess up your look on your special day!

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist04

For brides with a round face shape, do not cover your face with fringe or bangs. Instead, Sally would urge you to go for a deeper hair fringe parting to make your face more elongated and also have some hair coming down at the side.

If you have a high forehead or long oval shape face, putting all your hair up or not having a fringe is actually not suitable for you. She would advise having a fringe or bangs, which would definitely help to make your face look more proportionate. Then there, you will rock it!

the-louvre-bridal-singapore_korean-certified-makeup-artist05Aiming to go for the Korean look? Then take note that your hair colour is important!  Do not go for light blonde hair colours as it will clash with the classy style you are going for. Instead, go towards brunette or chocolate brown tones, but be sure not to go completely black as it will make your lovely curls less prominent!

One other aspect which Sally would look into, would be finding the right mix when combining customers requests, taking into consideration the theme and also which look suits their personality to give you brides a look which is special and uniquely you!

Most importantly, with all that gorgeous make up on, remember to take precious care and precaution to your makeup and hairdo. If well taken care of, your makeup and hairdo will be able to last your entire shoot with bare minimal touch up!

Isn’t it interesting how much Elaine and Sally has to share?  With the help of their professional tips and great eye for gorgeous looks, you’ll be left in good hands and nothing to worry about for your pre-wedding photoshoot or actual day!
